Music Heals: Yogathon with Avani

As part of our Yogathon series we present Sadhakas from different art forms. Sadhana is beautiful. Without any aspirations, with plain love, the dedication towards the art form can be seen in the Sadhaka’s journey.

Everyone requires a passion beyond the regular work for bread. The identity of the true you is found in these Sadhanas. This brings a purpose to life. In a regular work one can get frustrated if one does not get success. In Sadhana there is no scope for frustration. The true essense of “कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन ।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भुर्मा ते संगोऽस्त्वकर्मणि ॥” can be realized in a Sadhaka’s life. A singer will sing even when alone in a forest surrounded by nothing but silence. A dancer will dance in rain for the love of dance. A painter would sit and paint to bring vivid forms to life from imagination. A writer writes for the love of words.

In this post we present Sadhaka Avani Udupa. She has been practicing singing traditional Indian music since her childhood. She has most recently been trained by Indian carnatic vocalist Abhishek Raghuram. We have collected a couple of her recent works in this edited video.

After a hectic day of work or during the day after a stressful meeting, just relax with one of the “Music Heals” programs. Close your eyes, play the music and get transported to a different world. A world of Raagas. A world beyond politics, hatred or jealousy.
